Hey There! :) You should totally try yarn dying. It is so easy and awesome. Check out knitty.com for the best tutorials. Also, I think I prefer Wilton dye to Kool Aid dye because the Kool Aid dyes don't come out as bright and true.
I love taking pictures too. Still learning to use my camera but it's fun all the same. Do you post any of your photos?
